Taapu Restro & Cottage
About This Spot
Perched gently on a hilltop overlooking the serene city of Pokhara, Taapu Restro & Cottage invites visitors into a space where calm and curiosity meet. Here, the pace slows—allowing the soft breeze and stunning vistas to become part of the dining rhythm. Arriving at Taapu, you’re welcomed by an atmosphere that blends simplicity with a touch of playful charm, where natural beauty becomes the backdrop to shared moments.
This isn’t just a place to eat; it’s a spot to linger. The surroundings feel open yet intimate, with cozy corners to rest and spaces that encourage laughter and lighthearted play. A swing sways gently nearby, a glass walkway invites quiet exploration, and palm holds provide subtle reminders of the fun that’s always just within reach.
The menu reflects the spirit of comfort and familiarity with a cozy nod to local flavors and preferences. Whether you find yourself savoring tender chicken momos or enjoying a warming cup of cappuccino, each bite and sip adds to the genuine feeling of gathering around simple, satisfying food. Drinks like strawberry chocolate smoothies or freshly brewed black coffee complement the scene—unfolding slowly as the surrounding mountains and Phewa Lake stretch into view.
What truly stays with you is how seamlessly the space blends its natural surroundings with moments of ease and connection. As day moves toward dusk, the changing light plays on the hills and water, deepening the sense of peaceful presence. It’s a place where friends and travelers alike pause not just to eat, but to breathe in a perspective that stretches far beyond the plate.

From this place can see the majestic Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) mountain peeking through the clouds, the serene Phewa Lake, and a panoramic view of Pokhara city spread out beautifully below. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking. Great place for relaxation.

We went there for food. There is entry price which didn’t matter because it is redeemable in food. Now the food is excellent, specifically Thakali set. The view is also enjoyable. I’ll visit again. They start cooking Thakali after 11am, so keep that in mind while going there.
